The Albuquerque Pride Parade will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010.

Parade entries are judged for creativity, color (Rainbow Pride Colors), use of theme (“One Heart, One World, One Pride”) and enthusiasm of participants. Awards will be presented at PrideFest on Saturday, June 12 from the main stage at Expo New Mexico.  Trophies will be awarded to the “Best Of” categories.

YOU MAY REGISTER ON THE MORNING OF THE PARADE BEFORE 9:00 AM.
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING ON THIS PAGE BEFORE REGISTERING.

Types of Registrations and What Is Included

All registrations include line up location, number for your entry, and 1 parking permit. You will receive this information on the day of registration.

The following types of registrations also include one PrideFest admission.  You must purchase addition tickets for all other members of your entry (ORDER ON-LINE FOR PRIDE WEEKEND DISCOUNTS):

• Float/Business Trailer
• Float/Community Trailer
• Performing Group Walking
• Motorized Car/Truck (single)
• Motorized Group (2 or more)
• Performing Group Motorized

The following types of registration does not include PrideFest admission:

• Motorcycle Single
• Horse/Mounted Single
• Walking/Banner Group

Parade Schedule of Events

• Check in time: 7:30-9:45am on June 12 . *NOTE; LINE UP WILL BE ON A FIRST COME BASIS. YOU WILL BE PLACED IN THE LINE UP ACCORDING TO YOUR ARRIVAL TIME.
• Pre-judging: at UNM will begin at 10:00am
• PARADE START:  10:30am- All entries will exit from UNM lot through campus back to Girard/Central; then east on Central to San Pedro..  All groups enter Gate 3 of Expo NM and must have a parking permit (except walking groups).

Rules To Follow

• Entrance will be ONLY on Stanford off of Central Avenue into UNM.  Please have printed confirmation of parade entry, driver’s license and proof of insurance ready for check in.
• This is a public parade down Central Ave and many of our allies and observers are along the way.  Please consider the look and content of your entry as well as the image you want to project.
• Do not throw any object at spectators.(*Per City Ordinance) Please hand anything that you pass out to the spectators.
• Please be aware that Albuquerque Pride can get fined for the amount of trash that is left behind that your group might produce. Please have someone walking with your group to pick up any trash left behind.
• Albuquerque Pride, Inc. has the right to refuse any entries who do not meet the mission and vision of Albuquerque Pride, Inc.  Money will not be refunded.

Shuttle and Parking Information

Parking

If you are not in the parade and driving to EXPO NM enter the Fairgrounds at Gate 8 (off of Louisiana) and park in the infield (in the middle of the racetrack).  Walk west through the tunnel and head for the ticket gate at Tingley.   More parking and less traffic!

Shuttle Bus on Pride Day–Bus Schedule

Transportation is provide to and from Expo New Mexico and the University of New Mexico.  Free bus shuttle service will start at EXPO NM at 7:00 am and will run on the hour until 2:00 pm.   If you park your vehicle at EXPO NM you will be able to get the the start of the Parade. If you park at UNM you will be able to get back to your vehicle using the Free bus shuttle service.

Pick up and drop off at Expo NM by Copper and San Pedro Gate 3 west entrance. Pick up and drop off at UNM is located at Stanford and Central, where registration is taken place for parade entries.

TIMES ARE SUBJET TO CHANGE

You are responsible for picking up your own vehicle after 1:30 p.m. if left at UNM; Albuquerque Pride will not be responsible for any damage or loss to your vehicle.
