AND SALE GUIDELINES

Fine Art Specifications

  • Eligibility: Everyone is invited to enter the exhibit and judging.
  • Two and three-dimensional media will be accepted. A maximum of four (4) pieces will be accepted from each artist; framed art must be wired for hanging.
  • We cannot accommodate special displays; no installations or large sculpture please.
  • Albuquerque Pride reserves all rights to accept or reject items submitted for this exhibit.

When and where to drop off your artwork

  • Artwork must be dropped off on Friday June 10 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Fine Arts Building at Expo NM. The San Pedro gate will be open and parking available.
  • Judging will take place on Friday, June 10 at 3 p.m. to determine placement for each category. First, second and third ribbons will be awarded in each category (determined by medium) and one Best of Show award will be given.
  • A special Art Show Preview VIP party for the artists, their families and friends will be hosted by abqARTS and Albuquerque Pride on Friday June 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. Artists who submit a piece to the show will receive a free VIP Party ticket for the Artist Reception only; general admission for Pridefest is still required to enter the Main Gates.
  • Art will be exhibited on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to the general public.

Fine Art Sales

  • It will be at the artist’s discretion if their art is to be listed as “for sale” on the registration form.
  • Artists retain all rights to the art submitted until payment has been secured for the sale price of the item.
  • Money for the sale of the art will be collected by abqARTS and payment for items sold will be made to the Artist by Albuquerque Pride no later than June 30, 2011.
  • No item will be sold without payment made. A 10% commission will be charged against all items sold.
  • Art will remain on site until the show closes at 5 p.m. on June 11, at which time the buyer may take possession of the art piece(s).
  • Art that is purchased with a check will be held until checks clear the bank.

Logistics and Other Information

  • No food, drinks, cameras, pets, or backpacks will be allowed into the fine arts building during exhibition hours for patrons.
  • Submission Deadline:  Items must be delivered to the Fine Arts Building at the Expo NM (State Fairgrounds Fine Arts Building) on Friday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • It is the artist’s responsibility to pick up their art on Saturday, June 11 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Expo NM (State Fairgrounds Fine Arts Building).
  • Albuquerque Pride will not be responsible for items left past Saturday, June 11.

Limits of Liability and Agreement

  • Albuquerque Pride, abqARTS and the Expo NM/State Fairgrounds or any of their liaisons will not be held responsible for loss or damage to art left in their care.
  • Every attempt will be made to protect the interests of the artist. Artists are responsible for insurance and any applicable transportation costs for their artwork associated with this venue.
  • Submission of art for this exhibition will constitute an agreement, as outlined in this document, between the artist and Albuquerque Pride.
