Remember Mikey Spencer

A message from Rick…
Friends & Family,
I’m so sorry to have to inform you all that Mikey passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the University of New Mexico Medical Center in Albuquerque. He had developed pneumonia (regular) and the infection moved into his blood (sepsis).
I sincerely apologize for not responding to those of you who have sent me emails and left voice mails. But, as you can imagine, it has been (and still is) very hectic here, and quite honestly most of us are still in shock.
There will be a Memorial / Celebration of Life for him this coming Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the bar:

Albuquerque Gay Day is the first Saturday in June, when the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and friends are encouraged to “Be seen in Red” while visiting Cliff’s Amusement Park. Wearing something, like a red tee-shirt, to comfortably show your support for the LGBT community.

CAPI 2011

The annual CAPI conference is comprised of twenty-two hours of training featuring a combination of group conversations, panels, workshops and specialized training sessions along with access to unlimited resources provided by the smallest to the largest pride organizations in the western United States. Board members, volunteers and key staff from nonprofit pride organizations are encouraged to attend. This unique conference aims to inspire and educate.
When: Thursday, February 17 – Sunday, February 20, 2011

Albuquerque Pride and Alibi have joined forces to produce an Outstanding event that celebrates and honors the GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) Community. You have the opportunity to participate in a friendly competition and submit thousands of votes that tells us what you think about the best and brightest our GLBT Community has to offer. Here’s to you, Albuquerque, and to your finest in nominating and casting your votes for the 1st Annual Albuquerque Pride and Alibi 2010 Outstanding Awards. The Outstanding Awards show is scheduled for March 6th, 2010 at the beautiful Radisson Hotel and Water Park. We look forward to seeing you come OUT for this event.
